Dendrochronology (2017)
Dendrochronology was written for the Esbjerg Ensemble and was premiered on a concert in Esbjerg in on the 19th of May 2017 with a repeat performance on the 18th of May on Klang festival in Copenhagen.
The word dendrochronology refers to the scientific method of dating the age of a tree by counting it's year-rings. The piece was written in eleven days as a kind of a speed writing exercise, where I marked the start of each work day with a small signal which is a kind of an aural representation of the roman numeral system.
